Comprehensive Dog Care Services

We believe that we can provide the best care for your pet by being able to prevent problems before they begin or soon after they are noticed. We strive to practice preventive medicine in order to minimize the risk factors associated with many diseases. We recommend an annual, and sometimes biannual, physical exam, depending upon your pet's age and medical history. By practicing preventive medicine, we are able to minimize and slow the progression of many diseases which allows your pet to live a longer and happier life. These first visits are very important in getting your new pet off to a good start. Our doctors perform thorough physical examinations, evaluating your pet for congenital or developmental abnormalities. Exams for any internal or external parasite problems are also conducted. Any problems detected will be thoroughly explained and treatment options outlined. Necessary vaccinations will be also be performed at this time.

Our doctors and staff will give you the latest information about diet, parasite prevention and behavior counseling. You will receive handouts to take home, along with samples of puppy or kitten food. We like to see your new puppy or kitten as soon as possible after you bring it home, then at regular intervals until the series of vaccinations are completed. Spaying or neutering is recommended at 6 months of age.

We recommend a complete physical exam for your pet on at least a yearly basis. Your pet ages approximately 5 - 7 "human years" in one calendar year; therefore, a lot can change from year to year, especially as your pet gets older. Based on examination findings and your pet's individual needs and situation, which you help us to determine, preventative health care recommendations are made. These may include blood tests, urinalysis, fecal tests, exercise advice, dietary changes, nutritional supplements, shampoos, lifestyle changes, etc.
